After your bearing witness to Almighty God’s work of the last days for me, I have watched many gospelmovies, dance and song videos, MVs, etc. produced by The Church of Almighty God on the Internet. I also read some words in The Word Appears in the Flesh expressed by Almighty God, feeling that they are quite practical, carry authority and power and can’t be spoken by man. I confirm that they are God’s utterances. But my pastor and elder say the word and work of God are within the Bible and that outside of the Bible, there is no word and work of God. I don’t understand why the work and word of Almighty God go beyond the Bible? How do you understand this question?

The Answer from God’s Word:

The things recorded in the Old Testament are Jehovah’s work in Israel, and that which is recorded in the New Testament is the work of Jesus during the Age of Grace; they document the work done by God in two different ages. The Old Testament documents the work of God during the Age of Law, and thus the Old Testament is a historical book, while the New Testament is the product of the work of the Age of Grace. When the new work began, these books became out of date—and thus, the New Testament is also a historical book. Of course, the New Testament is not as systematic as the Old Testament, nor does it record as many things.

It has frantically arrested and murdered Christians, expelled and abused missionaries operating in China, confiscated and destroyed countless copies of the Bible, sealed up and demolished church buildings, and vainly attempted to eradicate all house churches.

This documentary is a recounting of the true experience of persecution at the hands of the Chinese Communist Party suffered by Chen Wenzhong, a Chinese Christian. Chen Wenzhong was successful in his career and had a beautiful and happy family, but because he believed in God and performed his duty, he became wanted by the CCP. He was forced to leave home and was on the run for over ten years. In order to learn of his whereabouts, the CCP police constantly monitored, threatened, and intimidated his family, and wouldn't even spare his young son, Xiaoyu. In the end, they forced Xiaoyu onto the path of no return.

    Eastern Lightning, The Church of Almighty God was created because of the appearance and work of Almighty God, the second coming of the Lord Jesus, Christ of the last days. It is made up of all those who accept Almighty God's work in the last days and are conquered and saved by His words. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally and is led by Him as the Shepherd. It was definitely not created by a person. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God's sheep hear God's voice. As long as you read the words of Almighty God, you will see God has appeared.

The Bible is absolutely authoritative. There is no other book that can compare. Everyone must admit that the Bible is inerrant. Anyone who says the Bible is tainted by man’s will or contains errors is attacking and denying the Bible, and all such people shall be cursed.”

 The Bible is absolutely not tainted by man's will and is entirely the word of God. 

   Response: People believe that everything recorded in the Bible is the word of God, completely unadulterated by man's will and absolutely authoritative. Everyone must admit the inerrancy of the Bible, and anyone who says the Bible is adulterated by man's will is attacking and denying the Bible, and shall be cursed. Is this view correct? Does it have any basis in God's words? As we all know, the Bible was entirely written by man and recorded by many ancient prophets, disciples and apostles after experiencing God's work. It's a historically factual book compiled by later generations that records the work of God. Even though it contains details of the work and utterances of Jehovah and Jesus at the time, it was not personally documented by Jehovah and Jesus, and the words were not all personally uttered by Jehovah and Jesus; much of it was testimonies of people's experiences.

Welcome friends! Over the past several thousand years, God's disposition, God's possessions and being and God's intention have been opened to us at all times, and we have heard a lot of stories about God's work. But our knowledge of God's disposition and essence is virtually non-existent. I’m an ordinary person. In common life, like many people who thirsted for light, I had tried many ways to seek the true meaning of human life, so that my life could be meaningful, but in the end all that was in vain. Ever since I fortunately accepted Almighty God’s end-time work, my life had a wonderful change and began to become colorful. I understood that only God is the real supplier of man’s heart and life, and that only God’s word is the true meaning of human life. I was thankful that I had finally found the right way of human life. However, once in performing duty, I was illegally arrested by the CCP, and I suffered its inhuman tortures. Thus, I had a deeply ingrained life experience in my life journey….

It was one day in December 2011. At around 7 a.m., I was checking the church belongings with the other church leader. Over ten cops suddenly broke in. An evil cop rushed to us and roared, “Freeze!” At that sight, my head buzzed. I thought, “That’s bad! The church will suffer a great loss of property.” Then, the evil cops searched us like robbing bandits and began to rummage through every room. After a short time, the whole house was turned into a complete mess. In the end, they searched out some church belongings, three bank cards, some deposit receipts, a computer, some cell phones, and so on, and confiscated them all. After that, they took the four of us to the police station.

In the afternoon, the evil cops arrested another three sisters and took them there and locked the seven of us in a room. They didn’t allow us to speak or sleep at night. Seeing that several sisters were locked there, and thinking that the church suffered such a great loss of money, I was in a terrible stew then. I could only urgently pray to God, “O God! Encountering such an environment, I don’t know what to do. May you keep my heart quiet.” After the prayer, I thought of God’s words, “Do not be afraid. Such things happen in the church out of my permission. Stand up and speak for me. You should believe that all matters and all things are out of the permission of the throne and there is my will in them. …” (from “The Forty-first Piece of Word” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) “Do you know that all the surrounding circumstances are permitted by me and arranged by me? See this clearly. Satisfy my heart in the circumstances that I have given you.” (from “The Twenty-sixth Piece of Word” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) God’s words calmed down my panic-stricken heart. I realized that today I encountered such an environment out of God’s permission, and that it was the time God asked me to bear testimony for him. After understanding God’s will, I prayed to God, “O God! I’m willing to obey your manipulation and arrangement and stand testimony for you. But I’m small in stature. May you give me faith and strength and keep me so that I can stand firm.”

The next morning, they interrogated us separately. The evil cop interrogating me said smugly, “I know you’re a church leader, because we’ve monitored you for five months….” Hearing his detailed description about the whole course of monitoring me, I drew in my breath, thinking, “In order to arrest us, the evil cops really made a great effort. Since they’ve known that I’m a church leader, they surely won’t let me off this time.” I immediately made a resolution before God, “I’d rather die than betray God and become a Judas.” Failing to get a result from the interrogation, they assigned their men to watch me, not allowing me to sleep.

And furthermore, I knew that in the last days, on the foundation of the first two stages of His work, God has opened up a new age—the Age of the Word. And through His word, God exposes and judges men and will completely conquer men in the end, so that they will obey His word, submit to Him, and be of the same mind with Him, and become His manifestation on earth, the evidence of His defeating Satan, and the group of people who can bear testimony to His deeds. I am Yang Xiaohui, formerly a co-worker of the Praise Church. In 1996, when I was studying in Wen County, the leader told us, “Now false christs and deceivers run rampant. A cult called ‘the Eastern Lightning’ is preaching everywhere that God has returned in the flesh as a female. They deny the Bible and say that God has done the new work and spoken the new word, and that new word is the opened little scroll. They also say that only the little scroll can sanctify man. What they preach victimizes people deeply. Once you listen to their preaching or read their book, you will be deceived. At some place, the whole church which consists of seventy to eighty believers has been deceived into joining them. Moreover, they pay special attention to deceiving leaders. They can receive 500 yuan whenever they convert one person. If you want to back out after accepting what they preach, they will cut off your ears, gouge out your eyes, or beat you up with sticks. So, everyone must guard the gate of our church carefully. Don’t receive anyone who is not sent by our church.” At these words, I was so frightened that my hair stood on end. I felt that “the Eastern Lightning” was too terrible, and at the same time, I had resistance in my heart: “It’s nonsense that the little scroll can sanctify man. If one does not hold on to the Bible, he cannot become holy even if he eats the little scroll!” From then on, I had an irreconcilable hatred for “the Eastern Lightning” and began my evil deeds of resisting God.

I was a co-worker of the Stream of Recovery. On December 8, 1998, a brother of our church came to me to preach the work of Almighty God of the last days. He gave me a book of Almighty God’s word and asked me to read it. I was very angry and rebuked him, “We only believe in the Lord Jesus; why did you convert to the faith of another god?” Running my eyes over more than one page of the book, I laid it aside, because I thought the words were plain and simple, and too shallow.
