The Word of the Holy Spirit | "What It Means to Be a Real Man" | The Church of Almighty God

The Word of the Holy Spirit | "What It Means to Be a Real Man" | The Church of Almighty God

    Introduction

Almighty God says, "However, you should know, the humans I created were holy men who bore My image and My glory. They did not belong to Satan, nor were they subject to its trampling, but were purely a manifestation of Mine, free of the slightest trace of Satan's poison. And so, I let humanity know that I want only that which is created by My hand, the holy ones that I love and that belong to no other entity. Furthermore, I will take pleasure in them and consider them as My glory. However, what I want is not the mankind that has been corrupted by Satan, that belongs to Satan today, and that is no longer My original creation. Because I intend to repossess My glory that exists in the human world, I will gain complete conquest over the remaining survivors among mankind, as proof of My glory in defeating Satan. I take only My testimony as a crystallization of My self, as the object of My enjoyment. This is My will. "

Fallacy (24): Someone said, “ The Bible is absolutely not tainted by man’s will and is entirely the word of God.

Fallacy (24): Someone said, “The Bible is absolutely not tainted by man's will and is entirely the word of God. All the words in the Bible are multi-faceted and foreshadowing. The Bible is absolutely authoritative. There is no other book that can compare. Everyone must admit that the Bible is inerrant. Anyone who says the Bible is tainted by man’s will or contains errors is attacking and denying the Bible, and all such people shall be cursed.”

The Church of Almighty God,The Bible,Eastern Lightning
The Bible is absolutely not tainted by man's will and is entirely the word of God.

Response: People believe that everything recorded in the Bible is the word of God, completely unadulterated by man's will and absolutely authoritative. Everyone must admit the inerrancy of the Bible, and anyone who says the Bible is adulterated by man's will is attacking and denying the Bible, and shall be cursed. Is this view correct? Does it have any basis in God's words? As we all know, the Bible was entirely written by man and recorded by many ancient prophets, disciples and apostles after experiencing God's work. It's a historically factual book compiled by later generations that records the work of God. Even though it contains details of the work and utterances of Jehovah and Jesus at the time, it was not personally documented by Jehovah and Jesus, and the words were not all personally uttered by Jehovah and Jesus; much of it was testimonies of people's experiences.

The Church of Almighty God | Gospel Movie "Rapture in Peril" - What Is the Essential Difference Between the Incarnate God and People Used by God?

Gospel Movie "Rapture in Peril" - What Is the Essential Difference Between the Incarnate God and People Used by God?

       Introduction

God says, "The word of God cannot be spoken as the word of man, much less can the word of man be spoken as the word of God. A man used by God is not the incarnate God, and the incarnate God is not a man used by God; in this, there is a substantial difference" (The Word Appears in the Flesh). God has twice become flesh to do His work of redeeming and saving mankind, and both times there have been some people God has used who cooperate with the work of God incarnate. Both God incarnate and the people God uses possess a normal humanity and the work of the Holy Spirit, but how exactly do their substances differ? And how should we know the incarnate God? The answers are revealed in this short video.

The Church of Almighty God | Judgment Before the Seat of Christ | What Is the Nature of God’s Love?

What Is the Nature of God’s Love?

The Church of Almighty God,Eastern Lighting,The Bible
What Is the Nature of God’s Love?

Siqiu    Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province
Whenever I see the following passage of God’s word, “If you’ve always been very loyal and loving toward Me, yet you suffer the torment of illness, the constraints of life, and the abandonment of your friends and relatives or endure any other misfortunes in life, then will your loyalty and love for Me still continue?” (“A Very Serious Problem: Betrayal (2)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). I feel particularly unhappy—a sense of misery creeps up within me and my heart speaks its voiceless grievance: Dear God, how can You allow those that are loyal to You and love You to meet with such misfortune? As a result, I’ve had a hard time understanding the meaning of the man used by the Holy Spirit who said, “God’s last demand of man is loving and sincere.”

The Church of Almighty God | Listen to the Voice of God and Be Raptured Into the Kingdom of Heaven | "The Moment of Change

Introduction

Su Mingyue is a preacher of a house church in mainland China. Over the years, she has been a devout servant of the Lord who insists on doing preaching work for the Lord and bearing the burden of work for the church. She goes by Paul's word in the Bible, feeling that merely believing in the Lord is enough to be called righteous and be saved by grace. Although man still sins constantly, his sins have been forgiven by the Lord, his image will be changed instantly to become holy and he will be raised into the kingdom of heaven when the Lord arrives. However, in recent years, the church has become increasingly desolate, the believers have been negative and weak in general, their faith and love have cooled.

Following in the Footsteps of God | Almighty God's Words "God’s Work and Man’s Practice" (Part One)

Introduction

Almighty God says, "In every instance of God's work are the visions that should be known by man, visions that are followed by God's fitting requirements of man. Without these visions as the foundation, man would be simply incapable of practice, nor would man be able to follow God unwaveringly. If man does not know God or understand God's will, then all that man does is in vain, and incapable of being approved by God. No matter how plentiful man's gifts, still he is inseparable from God's work and the guidance of God. No matter how good or many are the actions of man, still they cannot replace the work of God. And so, under no circumstance is the practice of man separable from the visions. Those who do not accept the new visions have no new practice. Their practice bears no relation to the truth because they abide by doctrine and keep to the dead law; they have no new visions at all, and as a result, they put nothing in the new age into practice. They have lost the visions, and in doing so they have also lost the work of the Holy Spirit, and have lost the truth."

The Words of the Holy Spirit | Almighty God's Words "God's Work and Man's Work" (Part Two)

Introduction

Almighty God says, "What man expresses is what he sees, experiences and can imagine. Even if it is doctrines or notions, these are all reachable by man's thinking. Regardless of the size of man's work, it cannot exceed the scope of man's experience, what man sees, or what man can imagine or conceive. What God expresses is what God Himself is, and this is beyond the reach of man, that is, beyond the reach of man's thinking. He expresses His work of leading all of mankind, and this is not relevant to the details of human experience, but is instead concerned with His own management. Man expresses his experience while God expresses His being—this being is His inherent disposition and is beyond the reach of man."

The Church of Almighty God | Hearing God's Voice | Gospel Movie "A Late Answer"

Tang Jie served the Lord zealously for nearly forty years and expected the return of the Lord Jesus eagerly all the time. Having given up her family and her career, she established many house meeting places. As the work of the Holy Spirit shifted, the church became desolate gradually. She tried every possible way to revive it, but in vain. During this process, God’s gospel of the last days came upon her church. To “defend the Lord’s way,” she wrote a pamphlet to fabricate rumors against, slander, and attack Almighty God’s work of the last days, and sealed her church to hinder the believers from listening to the messages. However, increasingly more believers returned to AlmightyGod. At the end of her tether, Tang Jie fell into misery, confusion, and helplessness….
By chance, Tang Jie and two preachers of the Eastern Lightning had a fierce debate on the truth. After that, she not only understood the real reason for the desolation of the church, but also knew that God has already been incarnated and begun the judgment work of the last days. She realized that she was resisting the Lord Jesus she had been eagerly expecting for years, and was following in Pharisees’ footsteps of serving God yet resisting God. So she truly fell down before God and offered a “late” answer….

The Church of Almighty God | "The Moment of Change" | Hearing God's Voice and Being Raptured to the Kingdom of Heaven (Trailer)

Su Mingyue was a preacher of a house church in mainland China. For many years, she had been godly in her service to the Lord, unremittingly working and preaching for the Lord and much burdened for the church work. Based on Paul's words in the Bible, she thought that believers in the Lord have already been justified through faith and saved through grace.

The Chur of Almighty God | Almighty God's Word "How Peter Came to Know Jesus"

Almighty God says, "During his time following Jesus, he had many opinions of Him and always judged Him from his own perspective. Although he had a certain degree of understanding of the Spirit, Peter was not very enlightened, hence his words when he said: “I must follow he who is sent by the heavenly Father. I must acknowledge he who is chosen by the Holy Spirit.” He did not understand the things Jesus did and received no enlightenment. After following Him for some time he grew interested in what He did and said, and in Jesus Himself. He came to feel that Jesus inspired both affection and respect; he liked to associate with Him and stay beside Him, and listening to Jesus’ words rendered him supply and help. Over the time he followed Jesus, Peter observed and took to heart everything about His life: His actions, words, movements, and expressions. He gained a deep understanding that Jesus was not like ordinary men. Although His human appearance was exceedingly ordinary, He was full of love, compassion, and tolerance for man. Everything He did or said was of great aid to others, and by His side Peter saw and learned things he had never seen or had before."

17 The Lord Jesus is a God of mercy and love. As long as we hold on to His name and His way, we believe that He will not abandon us when He comes back, and that He’ll directly take us into the kingdom of heaven.

The Appearance and The Work of God

Bible Reference:
“Not every one that said to me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:21-23).
The answer from God’s word:
“The last days have already arrived. All things will be classed according to kind, and will be divided into different categories based on their nature. This is the time in which God reveals the end and the destination of man. If man does not undergo chastisement and judgment, then there will be no way of revealing the disobedience and unrighteousness of man. Only through chastisement and judgment can the end of all things be revealed. Man only shows his true colors when he is chastised and judged. Evil shall return to evil, good shall return to good, and man shall be classified according to kind. Through chastisement and judgment, the end of all things shall be revealed, so that the evil shall be punished and the good shall be rewarded, and all people shall become subject under the dominion of God. All the work requires righteous chastisement and judgment to be achieved. Because man’s corruption has reached its peak and his disobedience has been too serious, only God’s righteous disposition, which is principally one of chastisement and judgment, and is revealed during the last days, can fully transform and complete man. Only this disposition can expose evil and thus severely punish all the unrighteous. Therefore, a disposition such as this possesses the significance of the age, and the revelation and exhibition of His disposition is for the sake of the work of each new age. God does not reveal His disposition arbitrarily and without significance. If, when the end of man is revealed during the last days, God still bestows upon man inexhaustible compassion and love, if He is still loving toward man, and He does not subject man to righteous judgment, but shows him tolerance, patience, and forgiveness, if He still pardons man no matter what serious sins he commits, without any righteous judgment, then would there ever be an end to all of God’s management? When would a disposition such as this be able to lead mankind into the right destination? Take, for example, a judge who is always loving, kindhearted and gentle. He loves people irrespective of the sins they have committed, and he is loving and tolerant of people whoever they are. Then when will he be able to reach a just verdict? During the last days, only righteous judgment can classify man and bring man into a new realm. In this way, the entire age is brought to an end through God’s righteous disposition of judgment and chastisement.”
from “The Vision of God’s Work (3)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
“Anyone who does not believe in God incarnate—that is, anyone who does not believe the work and speech of the visible God and does not believe in the visible God but instead worships the invisible God in heaven—does not have God in his or her heart. They are people who are disobedient to and resist God. These people lack humanity and reason, to say nothing of truth. For these people, the visible and tangible God all the more cannot be believed, yet the invisible and intangible God is the most credible and also the most gladdening to their hearts. What they seek is not the truth of reality, nor is it the true essence of life, much less God’s intentions; rather, they pursue excitement. Whichever things are most capable of letting them attain their own desires are, without a doubt, their faiths and pursuits. They only believe in God in order to satisfy their own desires, not to seek the truth. Are these people not evildoers? They are extremely self-confident, and they do not believe that God in heaven will destroy them, these ‘good people.’ Instead, they believe that God will allow them to remain and, moreover, will reward them handsomely, for they have done many things for God and displayed a great deal of ‘loyalty’ toward Him. If they were to pursue the visible God, they would immediately strike back against God or fly into a rage once their desires were to fall through. These are vile people who seek to satisfy their own desires; they are not people of integrity in pursuit of the truth. Such kind of people are the so-called wicked people who follow Christ. Those people who do not seek the truth cannot believe the truth. They are all the more unable to perceive humanity’s future outcome, for they do not believe any work or speech of the visible God, and they cannot believe in humanity’s future destination. Therefore, even if they follow the visible God, they still commit evil and do not seek the truth, nor do they practice the truth that I require. Those people who do not believe that they will be destroyed are conversely the very individuals who will be destroyed. They all believe themselves to be so clever, and they believe that they themselves are those who practice the truth. They consider their evil conduct to be the truth and thereby cherish it. These wicked people are very self-confident; they take the truth to be doctrine, and take their evil acts to be truth, and in the end they can only reap what they have sown. The more self-confident people are and the more wildly arrogant they are, the more they are unable to obtain truth; the more people believe in the heavenly God, the more they resist God. These are the people who will be punished.”
from “God and Man Will Enter Into Rest Together” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
“God does not want more people to be punished, but hopes that more people can be saved and more people can keep up with His footsteps and enter into His kingdom. But if one still persists in his mistaken way and cannot accept the truth with a humble heart, but deliberately finds faults, looking for a bone in an egg, or pretends to know what he doesn’t, then he himself will come to grief and suffer loss in the end. God’s work waits for no one, and His salvation will not be thrown lightly to anyone like rubbish, but rather, it has its objects, its aims, and its selections. If you do not know to treasure it, then what awaits you will only be God’s righteous judgment and punishment. God is righteous to everyone. No matter how old you are, how senior you are, or even how much you have suffered, God’s righteous disposition will never change because of these. God does not think highly of anyone nor treat anyone unfairly. His attitude toward a person depends on whether he can drop everything to accept the truth and accept His new work. If you can receive His new work and receive the truth that He expresses, then you will receive God’s salvation; if you flaunt your seniority, put on the airs of a veteran, and bargain over terms with God, then God’s salvation will leave you. The Jews, for example, could not accept Jesus Christ but only waited for the Messiah, and what came upon them in the end was God’s curse and wrath. This is a fact obvious to us all. … Never again should we rashly draw conclusions about God’s work and His management; otherwise, what we receive will not be God’s promise but God’s wrath, curse, and punishment, and our lifetime expectation will thus come to naught. After we have drawn a lesson from those bitter experiences, a more necessary thing we should do is to not let God’s salvation slip away from us but grasp every guidance and every opportunity that God gives us, lest God’s curse come upon us at an unexpected hour. We should wait for God’s coming patiently and cautiously, treat the gospel coming upon us carefully, and pray to God to give us faith and bestow to us spiritual eyes so that we can discern every person, matter, and thing that we encounter, until we see God’s appearing.
… The knowledge and outward behavior of the Pharisees did not save their relationship with Jesus Christ, but on the contrary ruined them. It was their knowledge and notions and the image of God in their hearts that drove them to condemn the Lord Jesus; it was their imaginations and minds that misled them and covered their spiritual eyes, so that they could not recognize the Messiah who had already come but did their utmost to search for evidence and handles to condemn the Lord Jesus. This was their ugly features—condemning God’s practical work of that time on the excuse of safeguarding God’s original work. Of course, this is the mistake that the people of every age easily make—using the old doctrines and regulations to measure and condemn the truth that they have never heard, and believing that by doing so, they have kept the true way, kept their purity before God, and had faithfulness to God. But what is the fact? God has been unceasingly doing His new work and continuing His management, being ever new and never old. However, what about man? Man always sticks to the small number of obsolete things he regards as the complete expression of God, complacent and overwhelmingly arrogant, and waits for God to bestow rewards upon him with the attitude that God will never abandon him and will never treat him unfairly. Then what is the result? God’s work never stops. And more people of the new age follow Him and accept His new work, whereas those who wait for God to bestow rewards upon them are eliminated by God’s new work, and worse still, more people fall into God’s punishment. From the moment they are punished, their life of believing in God thus comes to an end, and their outcomes and destinations are thus settled. No one wants to see such a fact, but it happens right before our eyes unknowingly. Is it because God’s disposition is too merciless or because man pursues erroneously? Is this unworthy for mankind to make a careful self-examination?”

Ironclad Proofs of God’s Words Conquering Denominations’ and Sects’ Leaders

Holding Fast to the “Bible” Made Me a Pharisee of the Present Age

Liang Xiumei
Yingkou City, Liaoning Province
I was once a preacher in the “Sanctified Sect.” In 1992, I believed in the Lord because of my illness. After I believed in the Lord, my illness was cured. So I was very grateful to the Lord, and I treated the “Bible” as a heavenly book. If anyone spoke against the Lord or the “Bible,” I would be at daggers with them.
One day in August, 1999, a brother of our sect fellowshipped with me, “God has returned in the flesh and done a new work and expressed many words. Everyone who truly believes in God should accept God’s new work, for God’s word has brought man the truth, the way, and the life.” Upon hearing this, I cried, “That’s absurd! Hasn’t it departed from the Bible? Anyone who departs from the Bible isn’t a believer in God. The Bible is a heavenly book. What you said contradicts the Bible. You’ve gone astray! Whatever you say, I won’t accept it.” But I never expected that soon afterward, a large number of people in our sect followed that brother and accepted God’s new work of the last days. When I heard the news, I flew into a rage, and I condemned and blasphemed wildly while preaching on the platform, saying, “The ‘Eastern Lightning’ has departed from the Bible; this is abandoning the true way. Reading another book is betraying the Bible and the Lord Jesus. We must never fall into their trap, never be deceived by the ‘false Christ’ or receive them, lest we share in their sins. Except for the ‘Sanctified Church,’ others are all false. From now on, if those who preach God’s new work come to your home, tell me immediately…” Since then, on the platform, I vigorously preached to seal off the church and condemned Almighty God’s new work; off the platform, I resisted and disturbed it desperately.
Once, a young sister’s husband hurried to my home and told me that two preachers came to their home. I hastily went there and shouted angrily to the sisters who preached the gospel of the last days, “Don’t talk nonsense! Go away quickly! Don’t deceive people here!” After they left, I pacified the young sister, saying, “Don’t be afraid! If they come again, just drive them away. You mustn’t listen to their fellowship.”
On another occasion, two sisters, who were formerly in our sect, came to preach God’s new work of the last days to me. As soon as I saw them, my anger rose. I stood at the gate and didn’t let them in, shouting at them, “You’ve drawn people away. How can you have the face to come to my house?” One sister said, “Shall we go into the house and have a fellowship?” “Go into my house? Don’t you even expect to come into my courtyard. Go away quickly! I have nothing to talk to you…” Seeing I was so unreasonable, the two sisters could only leave.
Still another time, two brothers who preached Almighty God’s new work came to our church, when we were having a meeting. I suppressed my anger and asked them rudely, “We don’t pursue and believe in the same way. What do you come here for? Get out! …” Seeing that they didn’t leave, I exasperatedly went forward, violently took hold of the bench they sat on, and overturned it with all my might, throwing them to the ground. They got up and gave me a smile, and left reluctantly.
Although I sealed off the church and resisted wildly, Almighty God’s gospel of the last days wasn’t hindered. Although I drove away many preachers of Almighty God’s new work, the number of whom I didn’t know exactly, more and more people accepted Almighty God’s new work. I thought that if I held fast to the “Bible,” guarded the flock for the Lord, and kept faithful to the Lord, the Lord would bless me and the church would prosper. But contrary to my wish, instead of being revived, the church became more and more desolate, and envy, strife, and cliques arose among the brothers and sisters. The church had sunk into a declining state.
At the end of 2001, the church I was in disbanded completely. Looking at the cold, empty meeting room, I prayed in bitter tears, “O Lord! Why has the church come to such an end? It was established through twelve years’ difficulties and hardships, but why has it fallen apart? Why? O Lord, please let me know why…” I prayed persistently for three months but there was no result. Despite this, I still didn’t wake up and refused to accept Almighty God’s new work. Finally God’s rod came upon me.
I started feeling a pain in my chest and coughing, and sometimes I even could hardly breathe. Medicine and intravenous injection didn’t work on me. One day, right after I drove away the sisters who preached the gospel of the last days, I got a headache, and my head was too heavy to lift up. However, my heart was hardened like Pharaoh’s. I still remained impenitent and resistant.
In early April, 2002, after I once again rudely drove away the sisters who preached the gospel of the last days, I suddenly had a sore throat. It became worse and worse, and the pain was unbearable. I felt there was something in my throat, which could be neither spit out nor swallowed. Soon, my throat was choked. At that time I was afraid and began to examine myself in spirit: Why does such a thing come upon me? Why doesn’t God keep me? Then I couldn’t help remembering that it was after I drove away the brothers and sisters who preached the gospel of the last days that these troubles came. “Was I wrong in driving them away? Is what they preach the true way?” At the thought of this, I hurriedly knelt down and prayed, “O God! If You have really come and want to wake me up by the illness, the discipline, please enlighten me and send sisters to my home again so that I will know that You have returned in the flesh and done a new work. I don’t dare to resist You anymore and I’m willing to follow You.” After prayer, my throat felt much better.
A few days later, Almighty God sent a sister to my home again. I held her in my arms and burst out crying. Tears of regret, indebtedness, and gratitude were mingled together… After that, I anxiously asked the sister why they didn’t read the Bible now. She opened the book of God’s word, and I read these words: “The two components of God’s work recorded in the Old Testament—the creation of the world and the promulgation of the law—were both done by Jehovah. …” “To understand God’s work in the Age of Law and how the Israelites followed Jehovah’s way, you must read the Old Testament. To understand His work in the Age of Grace, you must read the New Testament. How will you understand the work of the last days, then? You have to accept God’s guidance and enter into His work today, because this is the new work, which no one could ‘record’ beforehand in the Bible. Today God has been incarnated and elected some chosen people in China. In these people God is performing His work, continuing His work on earth, continuing the work of the Age of Grace. The work of today is a path that no one has ever walked before, a way that no one has ever seen. It is a work that has never been done before; it is God’s latest work on earth. So, the work that has not yet been done is not history, as the present is present, and it is not yet past. Few know that God is now undertaking a greater, newer work on earth outside of Israel, exceeding the scope of Israel and the predictions of the prophets. It is a singular new work, untold of in prophecy, a new work taking place outside of Israel, which man cannot fathom and never could have thought of. How could such work be recorded explicitly in the Bible? Who could have recorded every single detail of today’s work in advance?” “The work of today is not history. Hence, if you want to walk the new path today, you have to come out of the Bible, step beyond the limits of the books of prophecy and history. Only in this way can you follow the new path successfully, enter into the new realm, the new work.” “Now that there is new word, a new work, why live in the old history record? The new word can supply you; it shows that this is a new work. The old records cannot sate you, cannot satisfy your present desires; it proves that they are history, not today’s work. The highest way is the newest work. And when there is a new work, the old way, no matter how high, becomes history to be recalled by men. No matter how valuable it is as a reference, it is still an old way. The old way is history, even if recorded in the ‘holy book.’ The new way is reality, even if it is not mentioned on a single page of the ‘holy book.’ This way can save you and transform you, for it is the work of the Holy Spirit.” (from “Concerning the Bible (1)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) “If you do not seek the way of life provided by Christ of the last days, then you shall never gain the approval of Jesus, and shall never be qualified to enter the gate of the kingdom of heaven, for you are both a puppet and prisoner of history. Those who are controlled by regulations, by letters, and shackled by history will never be able to gain life, and will never be able to gain the perpetual way of life. That is because all they have is turbid water that has lain stagnant for thousands of years, instead of the water of life that flows from the throne. Those who are not supplied with the water of life will forever remain corpses, playthings of Satan, and sons of hell. How, then, can they behold God? If you only try to hold on to the past, only try to keep things as they are by standing still, and do not try to change the status quo and discard history, then will you not always be against God?” (from “Only Christ of the Last Days Can Give Man the Way of Eternal Life” in The Word Appears in the Flesh)
After reading God’s words, I knew that the Bible is only the record of the first two stages of work God did in managing mankind and after the work of the Age of Grace, God does a new work in the last days and has new requirements for men, which are not included in the Bible, so there is no need to read the Bible anymore. God’s words also made me know that not all the words in the Bible are God’s words and the Bible isn’t a heavenly book. It was really foolish of me to treat the Bible as God. When Noah, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Joseph believed in God and followed God, there wasn’t the Bible, but they all could obey God’s work. However, when the Age of Grace came and God did a new work, people used the Bible to resist God, circumscribing God in the letters of the Bible. They resisted and condemned the incarnate Lord Jesus according to God’s old work recorded in the Bible and in the end crucified Him. Who is wrong, the Bible or men? It is absolutely not that the Bible is wrong but that men are too dogmatic. Men all hold fast to the old work God did but don’t accept God’s new work. They all hold fast to the history recorded in the Bible and resist God’s present work. It is because they can’t treat the Bible properly. The Bible is not the record of all God’s personal utterance but the record of the first two stages of work God has done. Part of it is the record of the prophets’ prophecies, and part of it is the experience and knowledge written by the men used by God throughout the ages, which cannot represent God’s present will. Having believed in the Lord and read the Bible for only a few years, I dared to circumscribe God within the Bible and stubbornly refused God’s new work and became a person who resisted God. If Almighty God didn’t disclose the mysteries about the Bible, I would go to the hell holding the “Bible.” God’s words opened my ignorant heart and made me have a correct knowledge of the Bible. With great interest, I asked the sister, “What is your church life like?” The sister said, “In the meetings, we eat and drink God’s word and examine ourselves according to God’s word to know ourselves and know God. In practical life, we practice living out God’s word to be transformed in our disposition.” Hearing this, I couldn’t help saying “Amen,” thinking that this exactly fulfilled the prophecy in the Bible: “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.” (John 16:8) So I said hurriedly, “Please take me to attend your meeting!”
The next day, the sister came early to take me to the meeting. At the meeting place, I saw that the brothers and sisters sit orderly, the brothers on one side and the sisters on the other, and they were all in good spirit, with admirable living out and humanity. They began the meeting with singing hymns. Under the leading of the Holy Spirit, they sang hymns of God’s word and of life experience. Every hymn was very moving and refreshing. After singing hymns, they prayed. They were all very humble before God. They thanked God for His chastisement and judgment on them, prayed for the spreading of Almighty God’s gospel, and prayed in tears for the brothers and sisters in all denominations and sects who hadn’t come before God. After prayer, they ate and drank God’s words and fellowshipped about them. They fellowshipped about their knowledge of God’s word, of God’s work, and of themselves in turn. The elderly brothers and sisters also spoke and fellowshipped about their knowledge actively. Everyone was released and free, and their words were honest and sincere. I was fascinated by that and felt great enjoyment. I deeply felt that only this was the meeting led by God. Such a meeting supplied me with life and nourished my spirit and made me truly enjoy the pleasure brought by the work of the Holy Spirit, which really made me linger on. At that time I suddenly realized that the reason why our church disbanded was that we didn’t keep up with the Lamb’s footsteps and lost the work of the Holy Spirit and lost God’s care and keeping. Just as it was written in Psalm 127:1, “Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman wakes but in vain.” After the meeting, I learned that these more than ten brothers and sisters came from different denominations, and when they came together, they didn’t belittle one another or dispute about right and wrong as they did in their former denominations. They were all close as family members and there weren’t envy and strife among them.
During the meeting, this hymn impressed me most: “… God does His work with difficulty; He suffers all kinds of humiliations. … What Jesus encountered has reoccurred today. … When we try to testify God to others, we meet with disasters instead; lifting up swords and bludgeons, they drive us out of their houses. …” When I heard it, my heart shuddered, “O God! Wasn’t I like what the hymn says?” The more I listened to it, the more I felt it piercing to my heart. Tears ran down my face, and the past scenes floated before my eyes: I resisted, slandered, blasphemed, and rejected God’s coming, and hindered the brothers and sisters from accepting Almighty God’s new work… Those memories were intolerable to me, and I dared not think further. I covered my face with my hands, feeling too ashamed to see others and see God. I was too wicked and vicious. I was precisely a Pharisee of the present age. I was in enmity with God and deserved the harshest punishment, and even death would not expiate all my sins! Thank God for not treating me according to my sins. Through God’s deeds and the burning love of the brothers and sisters who preached Almighty God’s new work, my cold, hardened heart was melt finally, so that I, an unpardonably wicked person, could be fortunate to come before Almighty God and attend the kingdom meeting. This blessing was given by God and was the great uplifting and salvation of Almighty God. Through eating and drinking God’s word and having the kingdom meeting, I knew for certain that Almighty God is Christ of the last days, the Spirit of truth, the undertaker of God’s work of the last days, and the only true God who will bring mankind into the pleasant destination, and that only Almighty God can bring eternal way of life to man. I only wish to devote my second life given by God to repaying His great love, obey His every arrangement, and expend all I have for God in the rest of my life!
Dear brothers and sisters: “The work of God is like mightily surging waves. No one can detain Him, and no one can halt His footsteps. Only those who listen carefully to His words, and who seek and thirst for Him, can follow His footsteps and receive His promise. Those who do not shall be subjected to overwhelming disaster and deserved punishment.” (from “God Presides Over the Fate of All Mankind” in The Word Appears in the Flesh) I hope that you will take warning from me, drop all your notions quickly, and investigate God’s new work boldly with a seeking heart.

58 Are there any prophecies about God’s work of the last days in the Bible? Why is it that nobody can unlock the Bible?

The Appearance and The Work of God

Are there any prophecies about God’s work of the last days in the Bible? Why is it that nobody can unlock the Bible?

The answer from God’s word:
“… let us not verify each statement. Instead, let us look at how the Holy Spirit works. Let us compare against the truth to see whether the path we walk is in line with the work of the Holy Spirit, and use the work of the Holy Spirit to check whether such path is correct. As for whether this statement or that statement has come to pass, we humans should not interfere. It is better for us to instead speak of the work of the Holy Spirit and the latest work that God is doing now. The Bible comprises the words of God told by the prophets and the words written by the men God used at the time; only God Himself can explain those words, only the Holy Spirit can make known the meaning of those words, and only God Himself can break the seven seals and open the scroll. You are not God, and neither am I, so who dares to explain at will the words of God? Do you dare explain those words? Even if the prophets Jeremiah, John and Elijah were here, they would not dare to, for they are not the Lamb. Only the Lamb can break the seven seals and open the scroll, and none other can explain His words. …
… The last days are no more than the last days and no more than the Age of Kingdom, which do not represent the Age of Grace or the Age of Law. The last days are merely the time in which all the work in the six-thousand-year management plan is revealed to you. This is the unveiling of the mystery. Such mystery can be unveiled by no man. No matter how great an understanding man has of the Bible, it remains nothing more than words, for man does not understand the substance of the Bible. When man reads the Bible, he may receive some truths, explain some words or scrutinize some famous passages and quotes, but he will never be able to extricate the meaning contained within those words, for all man sees are dead words, not the scenes of the work of Jehovah and Jesus, and man is unable to unravel the mystery of such work. Therefore, the mystery of the six-thousand-year management plan is the greatest mystery, the one most hidden and utterly inconceivable to man. None can directly understand the will of God, unless He Himself explains and opens up to man, otherwise, they will forever remain riddles to man and forever remain sealed mysteries. Never mind those in the religious world; if you were not told today, neither would you be able to understand. This work of six thousand years is more mysterious than all the prophecies of the prophets. It is the greatest mystery since creation, and no former prophet has ever been able to fathom it, for this mystery is only unraveled in the final age and has never before been revealed. If you understand this mystery and are able to fully receive it, those religious persons will all be conquered by this mystery. Only this is the greatest of visions, that which man most longs to understand but also that which is most unclear to him.”
from “The Mystery of the Incarnation (4)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
“The Jews of the time all read from the Old Testament and knew of Isaiah’s prophecy that a male infant would be born in a manger. Why then, with this knowledge, did they still persecute Jesus? Is this not because of their rebellious nature and ignorance of the work of the Holy Spirit? At that time, the Pharisees believed that the work of Jesus was unlike what they knew of the prophesied male infant; man of today rejects God because the work of the incarnate God does not conform to the Bible. Is not the substance of their rebelliousness against God one and the same? Can you be such that you accept without question all the work of the Holy Spirit? If it is the work of the Holy Spirit, then it is the right ‘stream.’ You should accept it without the slightest misgivings, rather than picking and choosing what to accept. If you gain some knowledge from God and exercise some caution against Him, is this not an act truly uncalled for? What you ought to do is acceptance of, without the need for further substantiation from the Bible, any work so long as it is that of the Holy Spirit, for you believe in God to follow God, not to investigate Him. You should not search out further proof for Me to show that I am your God. Rather, you ought to discern whether I am of benefit to you; that is the key. Even if you have found out much irrefutable proof within the Bible, it cannot bring you fully before Me. You are one who lives within the confines of the Bible, and not before Me…. Though the Bible prophesied that a male infant would be born, none could fathom upon whom the prophecy would come to pass, for man did not know the work of God, and this is what caused the Pharisees to stand against Jesus. Some know that My work is in man’s interests, yet they continue to believe that Jesus and I are two entirely separate beings who are mutually incompatible. At the time, Jesus only spoke to His disciples a series of sermons in the Age of Grace, such as how to practice, how to gather together, how to ask in prayer, how to treat others, and so forth. The work He carried out was that of the Age of Grace, and He expounded only on how the disciples and those who followed Him ought to practice. He did only the work of the Age of Grace and none of the last days. When Jehovah set down Old Testament law in the Age of Law, why did He not then do the work of the Age of Grace? Why did He not make clear in advance the work of the Age of Grace? Would this not have been of benefit to the acceptance of man? He only prophesied that a male infant would be born and come to power, but He did not carry out in advance the work of the Age of Grace. The work of God in each age has clear boundaries; He does only the work of the current age and never does He carry out the next stage of work in advance. Only in this way can His representative work of each age be brought to the fore. Jesus had spoken only of the signs of the last days, of how to be patient and how to be saved, how to repent and confess, as well as how to bear the cross and endure suffering; never did He speak of what man in the last days should enter into or how to seek to satisfy God’s will. As such, would it not be an act of fallacy to search within the Bible for God’s work of the last days? What can you discern merely holding the Bible in your hands? Be it an interpreter of the Bible or a preacher, who can foreknow the work of today?”
from “How Can Man Who Has Defined God in His Conceptions Receive the Revelations of God?” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
“Each stage of God’s work was not expressly in order to fulfill the predictions of the ancient prophets, and He did not come to abide by doctrine or deliberately realize the predictions of the ancient prophets. Yet His actions did not disrupt the predictions of the ancient prophets, nor did they disturb the work that He had previously done. The salient point of His work was not abiding by any doctrine, and doing the work that He Himself should do. He was not a prophet or a seer, but a doer, who actually came to do the work He was supposed to do, and came to open His new era and carry out His new work. Of course, when Jesus came to do His work, He also fulfilled many of the words spoken by the ancient prophets in the Old Testament. So too has the work of today fulfilled the predictions of the ancient prophets of the Old Testament. It’s just that I don’t hold up that ‘yellowed old almanac,’ that’s all. For there is more work that I must do, there are more words that I must speak to you, and this work and words are of far greater importance than explaining passages from the Bible, because work such as that has no great significance or value for you, and cannot help you, or change you. I intend to do new work not for the sake of fulfilling any passage from the Bible. If God only came to earth to fulfill the words of the ancient prophets of the Bible, then who is greater, God incarnate or those ancient prophets? After all, are the prophets in charge of God, or is God in charge of the prophets? How do you explain these words?”

57 What is the relationship between God’s work and the Bible? Which comes first, God’s work or the Bible?

The Appearance and The Work of God

What is the relationship between God’s work and the Bible? Which comes first, God’s work or the Bible?

The answer from God’s word:
“… it is nothing more than a historical record of God’s work, and a testament to the previous two stages of God’s work, and offers you no understanding of the aims of God’s work. Everyone who has read the Bible knows that it documents the two stages of God’s work during the Age of Law and the Age of Grace. The Old Testament chronicles the history of Israel and Jehovah’s work from the time of creation until the end of the Age of Law. The New Testament records Jesus’ work on earth, which is in the Four Gospels, as well as the work of Paul; are they not historical records? … By reading the Bible, at most you’ll understand a little of the history of Israel, you’ll learn about the lives of Abraham, David, and Moses, you’ll find out about how they revered Jehovah, how Jehovah burned those who opposed Him, and how He spoke to the people of that age. You’ll only find out about God’s work in the past. The records of the Bible relate to how the early people of Israel revered God and lived under the guidance of Jehovah. Because the Israelites were God’s chosen people, in the Old Testament you can see all the people of Israel’s loyalty to Jehovah, how all those who obeyed Jehovah were cared for and blessed by Him, you can learn that when God worked in Israel He was full of mercy and compassion, as well as possessed of consuming flames, and that all the Israelites, from the lowly to the mighty, revered Jehovah, and so the whole country was blessed by God. Such is the history of Israel recorded in the Old Testament.”
from “Concerning the Bible (4)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
“The work of creation happened before there was mankind, but the Book of Genesis only came after there was mankind; it was a book written by Moses during the Age of Law. It’s like the things that happen among you today: After they happen, you write them down to show to people in the future, and for the people of the future, what you recorded are things that happened in times past—they are nothing more than history. The things recorded in the Old Testament are Jehovah’s work in Israel, and that which is recorded in the New Testament is the work of Jesus during the Age of Grace; they document the work done by God in two different ages. The Old Testament documents the work of God during the Age of Law, and thus the Old Testament is a historical book, while the New Testament is the product of the work of the Age of Grace. When the new work began, these books became out of date—and thus, the New Testament is also a historical book. Of course, the New Testament is not as systematic as the Old Testament, nor does it record as many things. All of the many words spoken by Jehovah of the Old Testament are recorded in the Bible, whereas only some of the words of Jesus are recorded in the Four Gospels. Of course, Jesus also did a lot of work, but it wasn’t recorded in detail. That less is recorded in the New Testament is because of how much work Jesus did; the amount of His work during three-and-a-half years on earth and that of the apostles was far less than the work of Jehovah. And thus, there are less books in the New Testament than the Old Testament.
…………
… During the time of Jesus, Jesus led the Jews and all those who followed Him according to the Holy Spirit’s work in Him at the time. He didn’t take the Bible as the basis of what He did, but spoke according to His work; He paid no heed to what the Bible said, nor did He search in the Bible for a path to lead His followers. Right from when He began to work, He spread the way of repentance—a word of which there was absolutely no mention in the prophecies of the Old Testament. Not only did He not act according to the Bible, but He also led a new path, and did new work. Never did He refer to the Bible when He preached. During the Age of Law, no one had ever been able to perform His miracles of healing the sick and casting out demons. His work, His teachings, His authority—no one had done this during the Age of Law. Jesus simply did His newer work, and even though many people condemned Him using the Bible—and even used the Old Testament to crucify Him—His work surpassed the Old Testament; if this were not so, why did people nail Him to the cross? Was it not because it said nothing in the Old Testament of His teaching, and His ability to heal the sick and cast out demons? His work was in order to lead a new path, it was not to deliberately ‘pick a fight’ against the Bible, or to deliberately dispense with the Old Testament. He simply came to perform His ministry, to bring the new work to those who yearned for and sought Him. … Does doctrine need to be applied to the work of God? And must it be according to the foretellings of prophets? After all, which is greater: God or the Bible? Why must God’s work be according to the Bible? Could it be that God has no right to exceed the Bible? Can God not depart from the Bible and do other work? Why did Jesus and His disciples not keep the Sabbath? If He were to keep the Sabbath and practice according to the commandments of the Old Testament, why did Jesus not keep the Sabbath after He came, but instead washed feet, covered head, broke bread, and drank wine? Isn’t this all absent from the commandments of the Old Testament? If Jesus honored the Old Testament, why did He defy these doctrines? You should know which came first, God or the Bible! Being the Lord of the Sabbath, could He not also be the Lord of the Bible?”
from “Concerning the Bible (1)” in The Word Appears in the Flesh
“Before, the people of Israel only read the Old Testament. That is to say, in the Age of Grace people read the Old Testament. The New Testament only appeared during the Age of Grace. The New Testament didn’t exist when Jesus worked; the people after He was resurrected and ascended to heaven recorded His work. Only then were there the Four Gospels, in addition to which were also the epistles of Paul and Peter, as well as the Book of Revelation. Only over three hundred years after Jesus ascended to heaven, when subsequent generations collated their records, was there the New Testament. Only after this work had been completed was there the New Testament; it had not existed previously. God had done all that work, the apostle Paul had done all that work, and afterward the epistles of Paul and Peter combined, and the greatest vision recorded by John in the island of Patmos was put the last, for it prophesied the work of the last days. These were all the arrangements of later generations…. Thus, if you worship the Bible as God you are extremely ignorant and stupid! Why do you not seek the work of the God of today? Only the work of God can save man. The Bible cannot save man, it has not changed at all for several thousands of years, and if you worship the Bible you will never gain the work of the Holy Spirit.”
